Its range extends as far south as Baja California, and as far north as Washington. Slender silvery blue-green stems are 8-24” tall. Petals are soft as silk. Blooms on overcast days or often at night. Drought tolerant and attracts beneficial insects. It is an overwhelmingly epic and joyful experience to see poppy fields in bloom- these include the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, Bear Valley in Colusa County, CA, and Point Buchon, in San Luis Obispo County, CA.
